Ambassador Program to promote skilled trades and provide workforce development opportunities in Illinois.

Apprentice Ambassador Program

Apprentice Ambassadors are champions for apprenticeship programs in Illinois by sharing their success stories and promoting apprenticeships to career seekers and employers. The Apprentice Ambassador Program is a network of diverse apprentices and apprentice graduates of all ages and backgrounds from regions across the state in multiple industries. This opportunity is provided by the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board’s Apprenticeship Committee.

What is IWIB?

The Illinois Workforce Innovation Board (IWIB) consists of leaders from state, business, industry, labor, education, and community-based organizations whom Governor Pritzker appointed to evaluate and meet the workforce needs of Illinois employers and workers. The IWIB’s Apprenticeship Committee, one of five committees, is dedicated to expanding and diversifying apprenticeship programs and apprentices.

Program Goals/Activities

Serving as an Apprentice Ambassador is a professional development opportunity to exercise valuable teamwork, leadership, and public speaking skills. Ambassadors are hard-working, passionate leaders collaborating with IWIB members to strengthen Illinois apprenticeship programs through innovation and creativity. Duties include event planning, business/apprentice engagement, community outreach, and more.
