David Bruner was the Individual Sectional Boys Champion, and the TMS Boys were the Team Sectional Champions. Gianna Mendoza was Individual Sectional Girls Champion, and the TMS Girls Team finished third at Sectionals.
Three seasons ago, Joliet witnessed the greatest collection of baseball talent in the city’s history. Four teams, the Slammers, Tully Monsters, Deep Dish, and Nerds Herd, were assembled in a matter of weeks, and combined to play 54 games in the span of 51 days at Duly Health and Care Field.
The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Baseball State Final Tournament 3A is a baseball tournament that takes place in Joliet, IL and will take place on June 9.
"Taking on the Slammers' food and beverage program was no easy task," starts Sigel. "There was so much room for growth coming out of last year, and my passion for sharing my love of food with others took the reins of this entire project.
Short began her career as a coach at Central in 2018 with only six girls on the co-ed Central team. Since 2018, team membership has more than tripled under Coach Short’s leadership; and now that Girls Wrestling is an IHSA sanctioned sport, Central and West have consolidated to a girls District-wide team. The JTHS Girls Wrestling Team had five girls qualify for state this year with Elle Paramo and Nydia Martinez placing second and Chole Wong placing sixth.
