Busey named among America’s Best Banks

Busey is honored to be named among America's Best Banks for 2022, a first-ever recognition by Forbes. Ranked 52nd overall, First Busey was the top ranked bank headquartered in Illinois. Only three other Illinois-based banks were included on the list. Forbes has worked with S&P Global Market Intelligence since 2008 on its America's Best Banks' ranking, factoring in financial data on the growth, quality and profitability of the 100 largest publicly traded banks and thrifts by assets. The metrics used to make the rankings are based on regulatory filings current through Sept. 30, 2021. While S&P provides the data, the rankings are done by Forbes.

Nicor Gas customers will see lower gas cost in February

Current natural gas costs reflect the impact of supply shortages and higher demand in the winter of 2021, which the company has been working to mitigate during this heating season. The new lower gas cost in February is the second consecutive monthly reduction that Nicor Gas has passed along to its customers. 

West Suburban Community Pantry celebrates 30 years with 10th Annual Chefs event

As West Suburban Community Pantry celebrates 30 years of feeding the community, their popular annual fundraiser the Chefs Culinary Challenge returns for a 10th time. The dinner will feature six notable chefs from across DuPage County on Sunday, February 20th at the Chicago Marriott Naperville. The event has been reimagined to conform to rigorous health mitigation standards and will feature each chef preparing one course of a six-course meal to be enjoyed family-style at distanced tables in the ballroom set at 50% capacity. Chefs will work from a center-stage observation kitchen so guests can see each course finished and plated live. The evening also features cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres, dinner wines, silent auction with no-contact electronic bidding and checkout and mission moment.

Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion extend free weekly credit reports through end of 2022

The three nationwide credit reporting agencies – Equifax (NYSE: EFX), Experian (LON: EXPN) and TransUnion (NYSE: TRU) – are taking joint action to extend the pandemic response service offering free weekly credit reports to consumers through the end of 2022. This benefit will continue to help consumers across the country manage their financial health during the ongoing hardship and economic uncertainty caused by COVID-19.

Will County at Severe risk levels for virus

Currently, Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 2,589,640 cases, including 29,099 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years. As of last week, 7,320 individuals in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 1,148 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit and 657 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators. Updated data analysis shows almost 90% of COVID-19 hospitalizations in Illinois are unvaccinated.
