DuPage Progressive Alliance and Illinois Progressives endorse Jesse Jackson’s  Emergency Summit on Gaza at Rainbow Push Headquarters which has been rescheduled for Jan 12 and 13.

DuPage Progressive Alliance(DPA)  and Illinois Progressives(IP) held a joint meeting on Sunday December 10, Human Rights Day in West Chicago IL.  After hearing about this issue at earlier meetings and with growing concern for the human rights of the people of Palestine especially in Gaza, both groups voted unanimously to endorse the Emergency Summit on Gaza to be held at Rainbow Push Headquarters originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday Dec 15 and 16.    We plan to send a representative.

Further both groups have also endorsed a call for an immediate permanent cease fire with resumption of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.  We support the bill introduced on October 16 as H.Res. 786, by Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO1) and Delia Ramirez (D-IL), now with at least 33 cosponsors and 62 total supporters.   Much more needs to be done to achieve a just lasting peace in Palestine/Israel.  The first step is to stop this wholesale murder.

DuPage Progressive Alliance is a group of activists who are promoting progressive issues, ideals and candidates in the Western Suburbs of Chicago.

Illinois Progressives is committed to providing support for progressive local and state candidates in Illinois along with progressive initiatives.
