On March 16, the JF Kennedy Terrace and Connected Living celebrated the first computer/internet training graduation class of 2011.
Thirty-six (36) seniors and individuals with disabilities successfully completed the 12-week course. The completion of the course qualifies each graduate to receive an apartment computer to use while they are residents of the Housing Authority. This accomplishment, to many, is a huge milestone to successfully complete any type of training. “This is the first time I ever graduated from anything”, one resident commented. Another said they did graduate from high school but never went to the graduation ceremony. Graduates enjoyed marching in and being recognized for their accomplishments by receiving an official Certificate of Completion. Graduates have the opportunity to continue your training for another 12 weeks at a higher level of learning beginning Wednesday March 28, 2011. There will be a launch party in the Community Room located at 2200 Oneida from 10:00 am to 11:30 am to sign up continuing and new students.
