Annual Hall of Pride Nominations Sought

Joliet Will County Project Pride is soliciting nominations for its Annual Hall of Pride selections. The Hall of Pride is ready to accept its 26th Annual class this year. The induction ceremonies take place at a banquet in Joliet on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Jacob Henry Mansion banquet hall at 20 South Eastern Avenue, Joliet, IL. The
2011 Class of Honorees and ticket information for the annual banquet will be announced in October.
Nominees for consideration for the Hall of Pride, the Joliet-Will County local “hall of fame” will be taken up to October 1, 2011. Nominations can be submitted On Line at the Joliet Will County Project Pride Web Site at jolietwillcountyprojectpride.org.
The nomination can be entered instantly by filling out the form and including substantial reasons in a paragraph why the nominee should be considered. A Joliet Will County Project Board member will follow up on each nomination.
Written Nominations will also be considered. Single page written nomination should be mailed to the Joliet Will County Hall of Pride, P.O. Box 3799, Joliet, IL 60434-3799. Written nominations should include the name and contact information of the nominee and the nominator. A narrative paragraph detailing why the nominee should be considered must be included. Deadline for Written Nominations is also October 1, 2011.
Hall of Pride inductees are recognized because they have, by virtue of their efforts, brought a heightened sense of pride to the Joliet/ Will County area. A Hall of Pride honoree will be recognized within their chosen profession, career, or field of endeavor, as having gone "above and beyond" normal expectations. Candidates must demonstrate outstanding volunteerism beyond their chosen field of expertise. Candidates must have demonstrated a sense of community awareness and cooperation with other groups and agencies for the enhancement of all. Selections for the Hall of Pride attempt to include all arenas based on profession, religion, community service, business, sports, philanthropy, etc.
Each year the Joliet Will County Project Pride honors four to six individuals who have in some fashion made their community a better place to live. Currently 119 plaques honor Members of the Joliet Will County Hall of Pride, located at the second floor meeting room of Joliet’s Main Branch Library at 150 North Ottawa St., Joliet, IL.
Hall of Pride Honorees will receive a plaque at the Annual Hall of Pride Banquet planned for November 8, 2011 in Joliet. Recipients’ plaques can be viewed by the public at the Joliet Main Branch Library during the library operating hours on the second floor.
