“A Salute to Service”

The Community Services Council of Will County Inc. recently conducted its 73rd Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet “A Salute to Service” at the Jacob Henry Ballroom. City Manager Tom Thanas served as the Master of Ceremonies and Mayor Tom Giarrante officiated the induction of Officers for the for the organization dedicated to exchanging information, promoting professional growth and collaboration in securing resources and services for the residents of Will County.

The Agency of the Year Award was presented by the awards committee chairwoman Franca Liburdi, with Aunt Martha to the Will County Child Advocacy Center and the Individual of the Year Award was presented to Carrie Worthington, President of National Alliance on Mental Health.

Through collaboration with the Silver Cross Health Community committee chairwoman Delfina Contreras five $1,000 Scholarships were awarded to Victoria Cervantes, Delia Ulloa-Jemenez, and Arturo Lopez, Daniela Castillo, Favio Lopez.

The Zonta Club of Joliet awarded one $500.00 to Rebecca Schroeder and two $500.00 scholarships from the Community Services Council of Will County Inc. were presented to Anjelica Johnson,Christopher Fisher. The President’s award was presented to Rick Lozano, Owner of Impress printing for his unwavering support to the Council and a number of organizations in the community. The Banquet ended with a $1,000 donation from the Council to the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for the Lincoln statue project.

The Community Services Council meetings are held at 8:00a.m. on the 3rd Thursday each month at the Joliet Public Library located at 150 N. Ottawa St.
