Solving the Public Education Dilemma

President Reagan said, "If a foreign government or domestic enemy had done to public education what we have done, we would have gone to war against them."

A loose quote, but accurate.

Public education in the United States has become one of the laughingstocks of the world.

We spend more per student than anyone else, and finish last or near last among developed nations in almost every category except self-esteem!

What can be done as expeditiously as possible so we can save our culture and our countries future?

The answer, believe it or not is relatively simple and it worked for the first century and half or so before the unions, bureaucrats took over education.

First, all control of education must be returned to the local level, communities, townships, counties, but no higher. Any funding from the State or Federal government must go directly to the parents or guardians of elementary and secondary students.

Next, the Churches, Churchmen must resume the role they had in education when the nation was founded. Scripture, the Bible, Prayer, morals manners and ethics must be welcomed into the curriculum. Churches by themselves or in concert with others must start Academies with or without any taxpayer/community support. The Public School system will only reform when it has competition.

Third, the "Reasonableness of God" has to be discussed openly and students should be challenged to prove or disprove the theories that they are now confronted with.

We need to ask, "Is it reasonable to suppose a Creation without a Creator, that operates according to laws, without a lawgiver, that contains millions of varied life-forms all producing after their own kind, without a Life-Giver?

I don't think it is, and our Founders didn't think so.

Lets make education a competitive field; As President Lincoln said, "An open field, and a fair chance to all."
