Plainfield Art League Meetings & Demos

To all those interested in joining Plainfield ‘s community of local artisans and art patrons, you are encourage to join local artisans at a Member Meeting & Demo, held from 7 pm to 9 pm, every 2nd Wednesday of the month. Board Meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of the month from 7 pm to 9 pm. Currently, all meetings are being held at Panera Bread Restaurant on the southeast corner of Caton Farm Road and Rt. 59 (entrance off of Caton Farm). Please check the website for updates. The Forest Preserve District of Will County is sponsoring a Farmer’s Market at its Riverview Farmstead, in Naperville, every Thursday through September 29, from 9:00am-1:00pm. Riverview farmstead is located on Book Road at 111^th Street, in Naperville. For more information call 815-886-1467.

2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Registration

Registration for the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon opened to the public at noon (CST) on Wednesday, February 1, at www.chicagomarathon.com. The 35th anniversary of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon will be held on Columbus Day weekend, Sunday, October 7, starting and finishing in Chicago's Grant Park. Registration will be open to the first 45,000 entrants.

Naperville’s 7th Annual A Walk to Remember

Naperville’s 7th Annual A Walk to Remember will be held on Saturday, October 15 at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, which is located at 500 Jackson Ave., just west of Centennial Beach in downtown Naperville. The theme of this year’s Walk is “EVERY passing LIFE leaves something BEAUTIFUL behind.”

Bavarian Fest 2011

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia will host a Bavarian Fest fundraising event on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 6:00-11:00 pm at the Harald Viking Lodge located at 6730 W. 175th Street in Tinley Park.

Hops for Hospice Benefit

The Uptown Eatery and Tap is holding a Hops for Hospice benefit for Joliet Area Community Hospice Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 6 to 10 p.m. at 24035 Lockport St. in Plainfield. There is no charge to enter and a Joliet Area Community Hospice will receive a monetary donation on buckets of beer and certain drink specials.
