Published on

The Joliet West Choirs invite the community, parents, staff, students, and alumni to its Spring Musical, Mean Girls – High School Version at 7 p.m. on March 15 and 16 and 2 p.m. on March 17 in the Joliet West High School Auditorium, 401 N. Larkin Avenue in Joliet.  Tickets are available in advance for $8 at www.jtwestchoir.org or at the door for $10.

After winning the Illinois High School Music Theater Awards last year, senior Payton Fraser returns to the stage as the lead character, Cady Heron, who is struggling to adjust to the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois, after growing up on an African savanna.

The musical, Mean Girls, is based on the 2004 film of the same name written by Tina Fey, starring Lindsey Lohan and Rachel McAdams. With a storyline sure to entertain, the musical has a cast of 37 students and a pit orchestra of 11 musicians.  Follow the story’s lead character, Cady Heron (Payton Fraser), who is flanked by the “Plastics,” Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Smith, played by Savannah Groh, Charlotte Dean, and Katie Mongelli.  The story is told by Cady’s “friends” Janis and Damian who are played by Xierra Rapata and Brandon Brown.

Don’t miss out on this entertaining musical experience presented by the talented students of Joliet West High School.  Parental guidance is suggested for younger audiences due to the theme and language.
