Proud American Days in New Lenox starts Thursday

The New Lenox Community Park District’s annual Proud American Days will be held Thursday, July 25, through Sunday, July 28.
This year’s festival is being held in a new location at 601 E. Lincoln Highway, just east of Walmart.
Proud American Days will feature an entertainment tent, carnival bean bags tournament, a co-ed sand volleyball tournament for teens, a Pad Pong tournament and plenty of other activities.
The Lions Club Special Needs Day is from noon until 3 p.m. Friday, July 26, in the entertainment tent, while Dave Rudolph’s Family Beach Party will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27 in the Entertainment Tent. The Family Fun Extravaganza will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Entertainment tent.
A full line-up of musical talent is scheduled to perform at the festival. Maggie Speaks will perform from 8 to 11 p.m. Thursday, July 25. On Friday, 4-cast performs from 5 to 8 p.m. followed by Hairbangers Ball from 8 to 11 p.m. Lucky Town will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, followed by Infinity from 8 p.m. to midnight. Stellar Road will perform from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday. There is a $7 cover charge for the main stage entertainment for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
