Joliet man killed in single-car accident Tuesday

David Herrera died at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center after sustaining injuries in the crash, the coroner's office said.

A Joliet man died Tuesday following a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Wesmere and Twin Oaks Drive, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

David Herrera, 56, was pronounced dead at 2:34 p.m. at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, the office said. Herrera's vehicle struck another car at about 2 p.m.

An autopsy will be conducted Wednesday and could determine if the crash was due to a medical condition.
