Two new developments -- a Value Place Hotel and a new McDonald's -- have been proposed for the village of Romeoville.
The former, a 4-story, 116-room structure designed for extended-stay travelers, will be built on the south side of Windham Parkway facing Interstate 55. According to documents submitted to the village, Value Place has 175 hotels in 30 states and is the largest extended-stay franchise in the country.
The 4,471-square-foot McDonald's will be built at 645 N. Independence Blvd., near the corner of Route 53 and Greenwood Avenue and on the site of the former Bell Fuels gas station. It will feature a dual-lane drive-through window, village officials said.
Both projects are in the concept plan stage, and still require site plan approval.
"Plans are just under way, but we look forward to seeing the two new developments progress," Romeoville Mayor John Noak said. "Village staff will continue to work with representatives of both proposed developments to ensure the site designs are consistent with the village's requirements."
