A 25-year-old man remains in critical condition after being shot in the head while leaving a house party early Sunday morning, Joliet police said.

A second man was also shot, but his wound to the leg is not life-threatening, Lt. Brian Dupuis said.

Both were in a group of people leaving the party in the 100 block of Charity when the shooting occurred, Dupuis said. It's believed that anywhere from two to seven bullets were fired, he said.

Police arrived to find the first victim had already been brought to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet by friends. He was later flown to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

The second victim, age 21, was also brought to St. Joe's by friends and arrived while police were there obtaining information on the first victim.

Police are interviewing witnesses but do not have any suspects or a motive for the shooting.

Dupuis asked that anyone with information on the case call his office at 815-724-3020 or Joliet Crime Stoppers at 815-740-2200.
