Lewis University provided this news release on the closing of its Shorewood campus:

Lewis University will cease operations at its Shorewood location at 247 Brook Forest Ave., as of Dec. 31.

The recent acquisition and remodel of the 140,000 square-foot St. Charles Borromeo Center adjacent to the main Romeoville campus, as well as the increase in demand for online and blended degree delivery formats for adult and graduate students served at the Shorewood location prompted the decision.

This fall, Lewis University’s St. Charles Borromeo Center will house the College of Business and School for Professional and Continuing Education adult undergraduate programs, all programs which were served by the Shorewood location. These newly renovated classrooms, computer labs, food service and student study spaces satisfy the growing adult student population rendering the Shorewood location no longer necessary.

All programs served at the Shorewood location will be served at the St. Charles Borromeo Center. The majority of students who use the Shorewood location should experience little to no disruption to their studies. Courses will be continued to be offered through fall semester 2014 at the Shorewood location.
