The Frontier League player-draft took place on Tuesday and the Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy selected a pair of local area players. He was All-State at Plainfield South as a junior when he hit .436.

The other player drafted by the Slammers was Troy Jozsa from Orland Park. The right-handed pitcher was and IHSBCA All-State performer for Sandburg H.S. in 2009, when he led the Chicagoland area in strikeouts and wins. Jozsa went on to pitch for Triton College, where he struck out 17 men in 16 innings this spring.
