Job fair set for June 5 at JJC
5/27/2014, 6:17 p.m.
A hiring fair will be held June 5 at Joliet Junior College.
The event, co-sponsored by U.S. Rep. Bill Foster and the Illinois Department of Security, is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Building J on the 1215 Houbolt Road campus in Joliet.
Participants will meet with local area employers, with one hour dedicated to veterans seeking work. Those who register in advance at http://foster.house.gov/jobs will be pre-matched with available positions.
Job-seekers are asked to dress appropriately, be prepared for interviews and bring resumes. They will be asked questions such as, "Why should the company hire you?' and "How will you make the company more successful?"
Resumes should also be posted on Illinoisjoblink.com. The hiring board features more than 100,000 help-wanted ads, according to a news release on the job fair.
No-cost HR recruitment services are also available at the website and by calling 877-342-7533.
