Downtown Plainfield Spooktacular set for Oct. 25

Halloween is coming early this year to downtown Plainfield in an event called “Spooktacular,” on Saturday, Oct. 25. Join the Plainfield Public Library, the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce, and other participating businesses for day of fun for the whole family.
Families and children who come to downtown Plainfield during Spooktacular are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes for trick-or-treating at participating businesses between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Plainfield Public Library invites families to stop by during trick-or-treat hours to take part in a spider and ghost craft activity. Also during trick-or-treat hours, families can pick up a free pumpkin at Century 21, hot chocolate from Hop, Scoth & Vine, and hot cider and treats at Sweet Pea & Me Boutique, while supplies last.
From 1 to 4 p.m., Avery Family YMCA will give hayrack rides to families, and from 4 to 6 p.m. they will host a haunted house, food, games, and crafts. From 2 to 4 p.m., participants who stop by Gourmet Junction can make their own sundae.
Participating businesses for the trick-or-treat hours include: 3 Chic’s Boutique, Andreasen Travel & Tours, Art Cube, Associated Orthodontists Best in Show Dog & Cat Grooming II, Gourmet Junction, Hop Scotch & Vine, Lincoln Way Barber Shop, Me Tu Boutique Bella, Millers Old Fashioned Butcher Shop, Moe Joe’s, On the Road Again, the Plainfield Public Library, Simply Saucy/What’s New, Sweet Pea & Me Boutique, Shrimp Bar N Grill, Uptown Eatery & Tap, Vaughan Dance Academy, Village Flower Shop, and Wine & Cheese by TCC.
