A Joliet man punched his 8-months-pregnant girlfriend and her 2-year-old daughter during a fight Saturday night, Joliet police said.

Police were called to the Star Inn, 2219 W. Jefferson St., at about 10:25 p.m. when a fight Anthony O. Wilson, 25, was having with his 24-year-old live-in girlfriend of three years became violent, Cmdr. Al Roechner said. Wilson was angered when he brought a friend back to the couple's motel room to "party," and his girlfriend demanded that the friend leave, Roechner said.

Wilson allegedly punched the woman in the head, and when she fled to the motel lobby to call police, he followed and punched her several more times, with one of the blows striking the head of the toddler she was holding, he said.

Wilson was arrested and charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman and two counts of domestic battery. He is being held in Will County pending a bond hearing.

Wilson was previously arrested on Jan. 23 on a charge of driving without being issued a license, on Jan. 13 on a charge of domestic battery and on Dec. 26, 2013, on a charge of obstructing identification, according to jail records.
