Four JTHS teams win IHSA academic achievement awards

Joliet Township High School District provided this news release:
Four Joliet Township High School fall athletic teams were recently awarded the winter 2014-2015 IHSA Team Academic Achievement Award. The award recognizes teams that that maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher throughout their respective season. The program is designed to reward teamwork not only in competition, but in the classroom as well.
The Joliet Central team that achieved the IHSA Team Academic Achievement Award was Varsity Competitive Dance.
The Joliet West High School teams that achieved the IHSA Team Academic Achievement Award were Varsity Girls Bowling, Varsity Cheerleading, and Varsity Competitive Dance.
“I am very proud of our student athletes,” said JTHS Activities and Athletics Director Chris Olson. “The award signifies hard work as a team and in the classroom.”
