Paso Robles, Ca---California's Central Coast and Paso Robles in particular is known for its luxurious, delightful delicious Pinot Noirs. Delicate and complex, these wines have been the darlings of critics and wine aficionados alike. Enter Estancia Red Meritage, a big, luscious red blend that will knock your socks off with its blend of jammy, plum flavors and complex aromas of licorice, crushed red roses and a hint of black pepper. There's a lot to enjoy in this wine, especially with a hickory barbecue steak or some meaty ribs. This is a wine big enough for the great outdoors and a weekend cookout is where it belongs. Made mostly with Cabernet, with Merlot and a smattering of Petit Verdot to add to its complexity, the wine gushes with complex aromatics and a heady blend of black cherry and dark fruit flavor. There's a lot of spice and a hint of chocolate just before the finish. You can't argue with the price, well under $30. Winemaker Clay Brock is a no-nonsense winemaker with style. He put a lot into this and the result is a wine that is long on pleasure without breaking the bank.
