A Bolingbrook woman has died after her car went into a retention pond near Remington Boulevard and Lakeview Drive Monday night, Romeoville police said.

Cynthia Breig, 33, was pronounced dead at 1:55 a.m. Tuesday at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, nearly three hours after the 11:30 p.m. accident, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

Breig was traveling northbound on Lakeview Drive when she went through a stop sign at Remington, drove through a grass-covered parkway and went into a retention pond, Romeoville police said in a news release on the crash.
