Don’t toss that old Jack-O-Lantern in the trash – compost it by taking part in Will County’s Pumpkin Pitch at Lewis University in Romeoville.

Will County’s second-annual Jack-0-Lantern collection will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 6 and 7 at Lewis University in Romeoville.

Residents are asked to bring their old Halloween pumpkins to school for composting rather than throwing them in the trash. The free event will award prizes to contestants who toss or roll their donations as part of the Pumpkin Pitch. There will also be raffles and prizes.

Pumpkins should be free of candles, bags and boxes. There is a limit of five pumpkins in the pitching contest.

Lewis University is located at 1 University Parkway in Romeoville. For more information on the event, go to http://www.willcountygreen.com/pumpkin_pitch_2015/.
