JTHS Alumni event to feature Sinatra tribute concert

Nick Pontarelli will sing songs made famous by Frank Sinatra in a concert being held Nov. 7 at the Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet.

Ol' Blue Eyes shuffled off this mortal coil nearly two decades ago, but his songbook and sound lives on in a concert being held at the Jacob Henry Mansion to raise money for the JTHS Alumni Association.

Nick Pontarelli will present "He Had the World on a String" in honor of Frank Sinatra's 100th birthday at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the mansion, 15 S. Richards St., in Joliet.

Pontarelli will sing classic Sinatra songs and tell stories about the legendary crooner during the event, tickets to which cost $38 and include hors d'oeuvres, a sweets table, coffee and a cash bar. A cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. and Pontarelli will do a meet-and-greet with the audience at 9:30 p.m.

The deadline to purchase tickets is Oct. 30. Reservations can be made with a credit or debit card online at the Joliet Township High School District 204, www.jths.org. Click on Web Store for the Frank Sinatra post.

Each reservation made will receive a receipt that is the “ticket” to the concert. A Sinatra flyer may also be downloaded and printed.

Reservations for cash or check can be made at the JTHS Alumni Relations Office, 300 Caterpillar Drive. Checks are to be made payable to the JTHS Alumni Association and mailed to 300 Caterpillar Drive, Joliet, IL 60436.
