As MLB concludes its opening week, the Joliet Slammers are ramping up for their home opener at Silver Cross Field set for Tuesday, May 17 at 7:05 pm. The Slammers are excited to announce some of the top promotional nights headlining their 2016 promotional schedule like returning Princess Nights and Bark in the Park Days, as well as all new promotions.


Returning fan favorites include Princess Nights on Friday, June 3 and Friday, June 12 with princesses provided by *Magic, Music, and More. Anna and Elsa, among other princesses will be available for autographs and pictures on the concourse. Fans can stick around for a princess themed fireworks display by Lumina Pyrotechnics post-game.

Bark in the Park Days *will return to Silver Cross Field on Sunday, June 5 and Sunday, July 17, both 1:05 pm games. The first 500 fans will receive a

doggie treat bag provided by Tucker’s Doggie Delights. Tucker’s will also be hosting a “Best in Show” social media contest leading up to the games

for fans wanting to flaunt their four-legged friends. Contest winners will be chosen on each night and receive prize packs provided by Tucker’s.

The 2nd Annual College Fair* will be held on Wednesday, August 24 with 20+ colleges in attendance. Area high school students are invited to attend at

a discounted ticket price and have the opportunity to speak with college representatives.

There are five-day games slotted for 2016. From Education Days and *Day

Camp Days* and even a Grandparents Day, schools, summer camp programs,

and businesses just looking for a day out of the office can attend a game

in the afternoon. Games are scheduled for 10:05 am on May 18, May 25, July

6, July 27 and the Slammers will host an 11:05 am game on August 3.

Join the Slammers for their Independence Day weekend home stand July 1–3,

with TWO fireworks shows (Friday and Saturday). The Slammers will recognize

area veterans and those currently serving on *Military Appreciation Day

Sunday, July 3 *with a U.S. Army Future Soldier live swear–in ceremony.


New promotions set for 2016 include* a Salute to Joliet night on Tuesday,

May 24. *The Slammers will be highlighting all things Joliet. In addition,

the Slammers will hold a Salute to Summer on Friday, June 17 with a

pre–game pig roast by Double D’s Pig Roasts.

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Night *will take place on

Saturday, June 25. Firehouse Subs will bring awareness to its Public Safety

Foundation with a pre–game ceremony and post–game custom jersey auction.

The silent jersey auction will offer three specialty jerseys with the

number 343, and all proceeds from the auction will go to PSF.

The Slammers are excited to host yet another special guest at Silver Cross

Field with a Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer appearance on Saturday, June 18.

Battle of the Sexes offers fans a classic boys vs. girls matchup. The Joliet Slammers will go up against the Chicago Bandits, Rosemont’s professional women’s softball team, on Tuesday, June 12 at Silver Cross

Field. Area youth softball teams have the opportunity to take the field with the Bandits during batting practice.

The 4th annual HopString Craft Beer and Music Fest will come to Silver Cross Field on Saturday, August 20. Fans can enjoy live music on two stages, local and national craft beers, amazing local food, arts and crafts and more at this family–friendly event, from 11 am to 11 pm.


Fans can take advantage of day–of–the–week promotions like Two Dollar Tuesdays with reserved seat tickets starting at just $2, Fireworks Fridays provided by Lumina Pyrotechnics, and Family Sunday when fans can line up post-game for team autographs. Thirsty Thursday’s are back, presented by Bud Light, on the Slammers all new Country themed Thursdays. From drink

specials, to line dancing, to the chance for fans to win tickets to some of the areas hottest country festivals like Windy City Lake Shake and County

Thunder – there is something for all diehard country fans every Thursday night.

Kids can run the bases, presented by Andy’s Frozen Custard, every non–fireworks

night. Participating kids will receive a free ice cream cone coupon to be used at any Andy’s Frozen Custard location.
