Residents invited to free community Shred Day
8/10/2017, 10 a.m.
To help residents safely dispose of sensitive paperwork, state Rep. Larry Walsh, Jr., D-Elwood, and the Joliet Moose Lodge are hosting a free Community Shred Day on Saturday, August 12 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Joliet Moose Lodge, located at 25 Springfield Avenue in Joliet.
"This free Community Shred Day will give residents the opportunity to not only clear clutter from their homes, but safely dispose paper documents containing sensitive information," Walsh said. "I encourage everyone who has a box of papers that's been collecting dust to stop by and have it safely disposed."
Walsh is also partnering with state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, and state Sen. Pat McGuire, D-Crest Hill, to offer free shredding services to local residents. There is a limit of two boxes per car and cardboard boxes cannot be left at the site. This event will not include electronic recycling and is only open for residential shredding. No commercial shredding please.
