Denise Mushro-Rumchak has formally announced her candidacy for Will County Clerk.
Current clerk Nancy Schultz-Voots announced earlier this month that she will not seek re-election to office in the March 2018 primary and will retire later that year in December.
According to a press release Mushro-Rumchak has over 21 years of public service experience, and has served for the past 3 years as the Lockport Township Clerk.
“Her duties and responsibilities as Lockport Township Clerk mirror the County Clerk’s duties,” read the release. It notes that those duties include overseeing early voting, posting legal notices, supervising budgets and levies and voter registration.
Mushro-Rumchak is a life-long resident of Lockport, is a member of the Lockport Rotary Club, the Lockport Women’s Club, and the Lockport Lions Club.
“I am excited about this new endeavor and I believe my experience is vital,” she said in a statement.
“I look forward to meeting people across Will County to share my story and to learn about the ways to improve the services provided by the County Clerk’s Office.”
