Joliet mother, twin daughters dead of apparent murder/suicide

Joliet Police responded to a report of a fatality in the home of the 400 block of North Reed Street on Monday afternoon, August 28.

Reported by a concerned family member, officers found the bodies of 41-year old Celisa Henning as well as her twin, 6-year old daughters. The identities were confirmed by Will County Coroner Patrick O’Neil’s office on Monday which cited the time of death as 6:36 p.m. The coroner will conduct autopsies on Tuesday.

According to a statement, the police are currently investigating the incident as a double murder/suicide.

“This is an on-going investigation into a very tragic incident,” said Joliet Police Chief Brian Benton.

Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk extended his condolences to the family calling the incident “horrific.”
