Romeoville Mayor Noak, along with State Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, raised Illinois’ bicentennial flag at village hall this week.

Illinois was admitted in to the Union on December 3, 1818, so the flag raising marks the state’s 199th birthday and kicks off a year-long run up to the bicentennial.

“Illinois is a state with tremendous beauty, opportunity, and people,” said Mayor Noak.
