Artists needed for ‘Arts & Nature on the River’
12/20/2017, 11:24 a.m.
Jan. 15 is the deadline to apply to be an artist featured in the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s summer “Arts & Nature on the River” event at Four Rivers Environmental Education Center in Channahon.
The event is set for noon-4 p.m. Saturday, June 16, but the artist lineup is being assembled now. The District is looking for 12-20 individuals or small groups from a variety of disciplines. This year’s theme is “Sharing Landscapes.” Artists may use the natural setting of Four Rivers and the surrounding McKinley Woods – Kerry Sheridan Grove, or any element of nature, to link their art form to the theme. Categories include: exhibits, demonstrations, performances and participatory, or hands-on, activities.
Interested artists are invited to forward a brief artist bio, description of their work and a representative photo, video or audio file along with their take on the theme to FourRivers@fpdwc.org. Questions can be sent to the same email address. Artists will be notified by Feb. 1 if they have been selected to participate in the event.
