Letter—McGuire invites public to July 25 hearing on Semaj Crosby death

A joint Illinois Senate-House hearing will be held Tuesday, July 25 to learn what the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services is doing in response to the death of Sema’j Crosby.
The hearing is being convened by Sen. Julie Morrison, chair of the Senate Human Services Committee, and Rep. Mary Flowers, chair of the House Health Care Availability & Accessibility Committee. The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. in Room C-600 on the sixth floor of the State of Illinois Bilandic Building, 160 N. LaSalle St., Chicago.
The public is invited to witness the exchange between legislators and DCFS.

Committee members will refer to the DCFS Quality Assurance Review released May 26 which describes DCFS’ work with Sema’j’s family.
