St. Patrick’s Day is this week, a day that millions of Americans with Irish ancestry will celebrate. All too often however, the celebration can turn deadly because of impaired driving.
This year the Joliet Police Department has some advice for motorists planning to celebrate with alcohol – “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over!”
“Too often, St. Patrick’s Day can be a deadly and dangerous time on our roads because of impaired driving,” said Joliet Police Chief Brian Benton. All are reminded to designate a sober driver before the parties begin.
The Joliet Police Department will be participating in the ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ crackdown funded by federal traffic safety funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and is administered through the Illinois Department of Transportation.”
