The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps keep families safe and healthy through initiatives that assist families with energy costs.
Beginning November 1, 2017, Will County Center for Community Concerns (WCCCC) began accepting applications from income eligible households whose gas and/or Electric service is disconnected or under imminent threat of disconnection (i.e. disconnection notice has to be within 7 days of disconnection date) and/or households with children ages 5 and younger.
Also, we are still accepting applications for applicants with an elderly household member age 60 or older and/or a disabled household member (disabled member must be actually receiving disability benefits). We are also accepting applications for emergency furnace. Starting December 1, 2017, the program will be available to all income eligible households.
Applications are taken at WCCCC on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 8:00am to 3:00pm and Wednesdays from 8:00am to 6:30pm or until the daily sign-in sheet is full (whichever comes first). Our office is located at 2455 Glenwood Avenue in Joliet, IL. Please visit our website www.wcccc.nethttp://www.wcccc.net for outreach locations throughout the County where applications are also being taken.
