The Joliet Public Schools District 86 junior high students were recognized who recently competed in the Illinois Elementary School Association State Cross Country Meet in Normal, Illinois. The student athletes included (from left to right) Miguel Navarro (Gompers Junior High), Edwyn Ochoa (Dirksen Junior High), Madison Schlismann (Washington Junior High), and Emma Schlismann (Washington Junior High). The students were coached by Sue Groves, Chris Hall, Pete Knaus, and Kenneth Villasenor.

The Joliet Public Schools District 86 junior high students were recognized who recently competed in the Illinois Elementary School Association State Cross Country Meet.

In addition, congratulations to the Dirksen Junior High School 8th Grade Varsity Girls Basketball team who won 1st Place in the Joliet Township High School Steelmen Shootout. The students included: Gianna Armour, Bre’Jhene Dawkins, Naomi Foster, Mahogany Frazier, Trinity Hardy, Sedia Hendricks, Dezirae Herman, Symphony Jackson, Brianna King, Ashanti McGaughy, Jazzmin Nelson, Kaylah Robinson, Arianna Rodriguez, Tatianna Rodriguez,

Joyce Tua-Link, and Lovely Tua-Link. The girls are coached by Joseph Davies and Jonathan Forkal. The students were recognized by the Joliet Public Schools District 86 Board of School Inspectors at their November meeting.
