South African teacher visits Plainfield school

Minenhle Thabethe, a Johannesburg, South Africa native, spoke to third graders in Aryn Kukulski’s class at Lincoln Elementary School on Thursday, September 28, 2017.

Thabethe is studying to be a teacher in South Africa. She is visiting the United States as part of an educator exchange through the LEAP Science and Maths Schools and the Global Teaching Institute or GTI.

Thabethe is spending a month in Hinsdale Township High School District 86. Kukulski’s mother Pamela Bylsma who is an administrator in District 86.
