Park District previews new rec center
The Plainfield Park District recently hosted a preview night of the new indoor recreation center where the public came to learn more about the planned development.
Plainfield Park District Executive Director Carlo Capalbo, Lois VittSale and Byron Wyns from Wight & Co., the District’s selected Architect and Construction Management firm, addressed many topics concerning the planned facility such as storm water runoff, security lighting and traffic flow as well as what the new building will have, such as indoor gym space, locker rooms, walking track, fitness area, preschool and office space.
The proposed location of the new building at Bott Park, 24550 W. Renwick Rd., will place it in a central location of the 46 square mile park district which serves about 107,000 residents.
The District is in the process of addressing re-zoning through the Plainfield Village Board and will conduct a traffic study as part of the process.
