Museum of Science and Industry free days in January, February

The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago (MSI) is offering FREE Museum Entry to Illinois residents on select dates each week in January and February, starting January 8, 2018. Just steps away from our convenient, indoor parking garage, the Museum offers 14-acres of hands-on science exhibits and experiences that ignite curiosity in guests of all ages.
Illinois residents receive free Museum Entry on the following dates:
January 8–11, 15–18, 22–25, 29–31
February 1, 5–8, 12–15, 20–22, 26–27
Discover how the capture of the only German sub during World War II was kept a secret inside the dramatic the U-505 Submarine exhibit; experience 1.5-million volts of lightning strike above your head in Science Storms; shake off the winter doldrums by learning why laughter can be contagious in YOU! The Experience; and see first-hand the amazing patterns that surround us every day in Numbers in Nature: A Mirror Maze.
On January 15, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and a free day for Illinois residents, MSI will launch its annual Black Creativity program with a special Family Day. Explore the opening of the Innovation Studio, a creative space for guests to become inventors and innovators, and the Juried Art Exhibition, which features more than 100 works of art from African-American students and professionals from Chicago and throughout the U.S. The Juried Art Exhibition is the longest-running exhibition of African-American art with works being displayed at MSI annually since 1970. The Innovation Studio and the Juried Art Exhibition are included with Museum Entry. For more details on Black Creativity, visit msichicago.org/blackcreativity.

PLEASE NOTE: Must be an Illinois resident, with proof of address, to receive free Museum Entry. Giant Dome Theater films, U-505 Submarine on-board tour, Future Energy Chicago, Coal Mine, Brick by Brick, Robot Revolution and special tours are not included in Museum Entry. They require additional, timed-entry tickets.
