The Joliet Slammers will send four players to the 2018 All-Star team. The All-Star Game will be hosted by the River City Rascals at CarShield Field located in O’Fallon, MO on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 7:00 pm.

Slammers third baseman Danny Zardon will be the lone experienced player from the Slammers joining the All-Star team. Zardon was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 17th round of the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft from

Nova Southeastern University (Fort Lauderdale, FL). He was signed by the Slammers in 2017 after he was released by the Phillies’ Class A team in Lakewood, N.J. Zardon has seen great success for the Slammers, batting .280 so far this year with 30 RBIs.

Three Slammers join the Rookie team for the 2018 All-Star game: catcher Trey Fulton, first-baseman Trenton Hill, and pitcher Liam O’Sullivan. Fulton will get the start behind the plate and Hill gets the nod at first base.

Fulton, a first year professional, played college ball at University of Dayton. The native of Memphis, IN is hitting .330 in 26 games for the Slammers, with six RBIs. The catcher is batting only second behind team leading Trenton Hill.

Trenton Hill is a third-year professional leading the league with a .351 batting average through 40 games and has driven in 19 runs. The Farmersville, OH native was a 34th round pick of the Miami Marlins in 2016 and spent two years in the minor league. He leads the league in On Base Percentage, with a staggering .467.

Pitcher Liam O’Sullivan is a stand out starter for the Slammers. From South Grafton, MA, the 6’3 pitcher attended St. Leo University and now leads the league in complete games after he went all nine innings his last three outings. His dominance on the mound over 59.1 innings this year has lead Joliet to five victories in 2018.

All-Star festivities include the Home Run Derby beginning at 5:00 pm on July 10th. They will include former St. Louis Cardinals Jim Edmonds, Rick Ankiel, Ray Lankford and Mark Whiten as well as the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony beginning at 11:30 am on the 11th. The Frontier League All-Star Game will be played on July 11th at 7:00pm, which will include food trucks, inflatables, a rock climbing wall, balloon artists as well as post-game autographs.
