Sanchez Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the School's PTO.
Teachers from Joliet School District 86 volunteered behind the counter on Wednesday, October 17th at the McDonald's located on Broadway St. The teachers worked hard to serve students and their families in a fundraiser for Sanchez Elementary School.
Mrs. Arroyo, Principal of Sanchez Elementary School, was so happy to see the Sanchez Community come together for McTeacher's Night.
Mary Generoso and Aracely Bennet dressed up in the pie box at the event and had a blast. Chrystian Dillard worked the ice cream and the Drive-Thru. Peter Kolinski also worked the ice cream and coordinated the entire event. Rosalynn Pernell worked the Drive-Thru during a shift and really enjoyed seeing Sanchez Families at her window.
The proceeds from the sale of 240 pies went directly to benefit Sanchez. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were donated directly to Sanchez as well, which plans to use the money to help pay for events, new basketball hoops and to support student incentives.
Marvin Spence, Owner Operator of the Joliet McDonald's, was delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
Spence donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event. Inspired by the success of McTeacher's Night, Spence has his sights on partnering with other schools in the Joliet area soon.
