Wine of the Week: Exitus bold and fearless Red Wine Blend
Dwight Casimere | 10/25/2018, noon
Tired of all those boring, forgettable wines, then try something adventurous. Something bold and fearless. Exitus wine is a wine without rules. Crafted for the adventurous drinker looking for a novel experience, the wine gets its signature smoky overtones from aging in classic Kentucky Bourbon barrels. This is a big, brassy Zinfandel-based wine that's blended with Petit Verdot, Cabernet, Petite Sirah and Merlot, to give it a deep Ruby-red color and the heady smell of blackberry jam and a mouthfull of flavor.
Besides the flavor of rich, homemade jam and dusty dart chocolate, the wine has a heady blend of aromas from fire toasted oak, baking spices of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove and hints of caramel and a whiff of tobacco.
This is a great wine with a big, well-marbled Prime-aged steak, or just for sitting and contemplating by a cozy fire with the sound of a steady rain outside. Just about $25 at your local wine shop and worth every penny!
