The Plainfield Park District will be hosting their annual Patriotic Picnic and Fireworks Show on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 at Plainfield Central High School (PCHS), located at 24120 West Fort Beggs Drive. The Patriotic Picnic begins at 6:00 p.m. and runs to 8:30 p.m. in the south parking lot. The Fireworks Show concludes the festivities at 9:15 p.m. (Time approximate)

On July 3rd, Fort Beggs Drive will close from 5:00 p.m. until approximately 10:30 p.m. There will be an increase in pedestrian traffic in the area.

The parking lot and bike path at Greg Bott Community Park will close at 10:00 am on July 3rd, 2019. The Prairie Activity and Recreation Center (PARC) will be open until 10:00 pm. Parking will be limited to the lots immediately south and east of the building. The soccer field on the south side of the Park will remain open for public viewing of the fireworks show. No parking will be allowed along Renwick Road.

Parking for the Patriotic Picnic will be on the main campus of Plainfield Central High School. The rear parking lots will be accessible from James Street near Commercial Street and from Route 59 and Fort Beggs Drive. Handicapped parking will be accessible near the front of the school. Parking will be prohibited on Fort Beggs Drive, River Road, and on one side of each of the following streets: Commercial Street, Fox River Street, Ottawa Street and Hometown Drive.
