From Mendoza, Argentina comes an elegant, well-balanced Cabernet that is perfect for a Chili night or Taco night party. Crios Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 ($14) is a flavorful red wine that can stand up to the fieriest of spicy dishes, yet it has the elegance to go nicely with some barbeque ribs or a nice char-grilled steak or chicken.
Spicy with vibrant tannins and bright fruit flavors that linger long on the palate, the wine has a long finish. Nine months of aging in French oak barrels lends it those nice flavors of nutmeg and cinnamon and gives the wine its structure. This is a perfect example of how a great winemaker can deliver a 100% Cabernet at an affordable price. Served at room temperature and allowed to breath for about half an hour, the wine shows its fullest potential. Buy a case or two and lay some down for aging. Best with grilled and roasted meats, empanadas, tacos or chili. Crios Cabernet Sauvignon is a great way to welcome Fall.
