Vinous Icons is the inaugural presentation of the leading wine estates from around the world in a series of wine tastings, educational seminars, and a Gala Dinner. Vinous Icons offered a fabulous opportunity to taste outstanding reference-point wines from around the world, with the added advantage of speaking to the winemakers and producers in person. Participants also had the opportunity to chat with the team of reviewers who work for Vinous, which has become the world’s leading modern-day wine publication, streaming a continual daily stream of articles from Vinous’ team of renowned critics and writers. They offer in depth coverage of new wine releases, retrospectives and verticals of older wines, videos with winemakers, interactive maps, restaurant recommendations and more. Visit vinous.com for more.

Among the premiere wines were the spectacular champagnes of Taittinger. Presented by Clovis Taittinger, Managing Director International Development, Taittinger Comtes De Champagne Grand Crus Blanc De Blancs 2013 was one of the most beautiful representatives of the famous region.

Created from the first press of 100% Chardonnay grapes from 5 villages with a Grand Crus classification, the cuvee contains a small percentage of wine aged in fresh oak barrels to create a delicate balance of toasted notes.

Exciting on the palate, it features a range of exquisite taste sensations, from ripe apricots and white peaches to aromas of orange blossoms and delicate notes of pastry cream and blanched almonds. Its lively mousse adds to the toasty complexity achieved by extensive bottle aging. This is vintage champagne to be enjoyed by itself, or with your favorite meal of roast duckling, seared Steak Diane or Scallops or shrimp sautéed in butter, shallots, and fresh Tarragon. Save a glass for a dessert of Crème Brulee or Raspberries with Cinnamon dusted cream and Lemon Zest. At under a hundred dollars, it is truly a value to be enjoyed. Visit taittiner.com for more.
