Among the premiere wines were the spectacular champagnes of Taittinger. Presented by Clovis Taittinger, Managing Director International Development, Taittinger Comtes De Champagne Grand Crus Blanc De Blancs 2013 was one of the most beautiful representatives of the famous region.
Created from the first press of 100% Chardonnay grapes from 5 villages with a Grand Crus classification, the cuvee contains a small percentage of wine aged in fresh oak barrels to create a delicate balance of toasted notes.
Exciting on the palate, it features a range of exquisite taste sensations, from ripe apricots and white peaches to aromas of orange blossoms and delicate notes of pastry cream and blanched almonds. Its lively mousse adds to the toasty complexity achieved by extensive bottle aging. This is vintage champagne to be enjoyed by itself, or with your favorite meal of roast duckling, seared Steak Diane or Scallops or shrimp sautéed in butter, shallots, and fresh Tarragon. Save a glass for a dessert of Crème Brulee or Raspberries with Cinnamon dusted cream and Lemon Zest. At under a hundred dollars, it is truly a value to be enjoyed. Visit taittiner.com for more.
