Forest Preserve’s ‘Buzz’ nature show expands to larger TV audience

Published on

“The Buzz,” the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s monthly nature show, is expanding to a wider audience.

Starting in February, “Buzz” episodes will be featured on WJYS, a TV station that reaches more than 1 million people in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The February episode will air on WJYS at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, as well as noon Saturday, Feb. 26. The show’s inclusion on WJYS is being funded by The Nature Foundation of Will County.

Airing “The Buzz” on WJYS provides the show with a set television time slot each month so viewers can plan to watch, but it will also run at additional times on WJYS as other spots become available.

As always, the award-winning show will debut on the Forest Preserve District’s Facebook and YouTube pages on the last Wednesday of the month. February’s episode will air at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23. Local cable stations also carry the show in Joliet, Naperville, New Lenox, Romeoville, and Tinley Park.

February’s “Buzz” will feature information on two underappreciated animals – Canada geese and raccoons – and a fun outdoor winter activity viewers might want to try on their own, according to program host Suzy Lyttle, a Forest Preserve program coordinator.
