Cava is Spain’s gift to the sparkling wine lover’s world. Produced in the same traditional method, under strict guidelines, it delivers many of the same joys as its more expensive counterpart, yet, at a considerable value.
The method used in making Cava follows the same rigorous standards that originated in Champagne. Each bottle is double fermented and allowed to age in the bottle.
Macabeo, Xarel-lo and Parelleda is the classic blend of white native Spanish grapes used in the production of Cava, and Los Dos Brut Cava from Catalunya, Spain delivers a light frothy mouthful of express fruit and enticing aromas to satisfy the most ardent bubbly enthusiast.
No sparkling wine anywhere in the world can call itself Champagne. Only those sparkling wines produced in the Champagne region of France and which use the seven approved grape varieties-Chardonnay, Pinto Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Petit Meslier, Arbanne and Fromenteau.
In Spain’s Los Dos Cava, aromas of crisp green apples and pears introduce fruity flavors of zesty lemons and limes with hints of dried apricots, shaved almonds and pleasant notes of fresh baked bread in the background. Distinguished by a creamy mouth feel, this bubbly has delightful streams of tiny bubble ‘pearls’ that persist from the first sip to the last. For an extremely affordable price, this Cava delivers a pleasant experience that is all encompassing.
Enjoy it by itself or with a variety of light delicacies-fresh oysters or Shrimp Tempura. Cava loves foods cooked in a light, crispy batter. Another indulgence is Mac N’ Cheese made with a combination of three or more cheeses and some added Shrimp, Lobster or Scallops to enhance the rich creaminess of both the dish and the Cava.
Assorted soft cheeses and fruit salads are another delightful way to pass a late summer afternoon with little fuss in the kitchen. That leaves ample time to spend time with a joyous flavorful companion. There’s a stylized portrait of a couple dancing on the label. It is quite indicative of the dancing bubbles and sprightly flavors in a bottle of Los Dos Cava. For more visit winebow.com.
