Water Street Naperville to host Local Artists’ Fine Art and Fine Crafts Show and Sale

      The Naperville Water Street District to hold the first Annual Water Street Fine Art & Fine Craft Fair, a juried art exhibition and sale, to be held on Sunday, July 14 from 10 am until 5 pm along Water and Webster Streets in Downtown Naperville, adjacent to the renowned Naperville Riverwalk, Naper Settlement and Hotel Indigo Naperville Riverwalk.  The show is inviting local artists from DuPage, Will and Kane Counties to exhibit fine art and fine crafts in a variety of media including painting, drawing, sculpture, fiber, graphics, mixed media, jewelry, photography, pottery, metalwork, glass, wood, digital artwork, glass, and digital art. 

    The show will also feature a Young Artist Makers Tent presented by the DuPage Children’s Museum and live jazz by the Pete Ellman Trio. Water Street also feature several eateries open for brunch, lunch and dinner including Sparrow Coffee Roastery, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Shop, Plank Kitchen in Hotel Indigo, Blue Sushi Sake Grill, Quiubo, Santo Cielo, SixtyFour Wine Bar & Kitchen, and Vasili’s Mediterranean, many including outdoor seating or views of the Street.   A cooling fountain and splash pad grace Foyo Plaza, and Water Street connects to Jaycees Park with outdoor Wi-Fi-enabled covered seating areas.  Admission to the show is free and free parking is available in the Hotel Indigo Parking Garage or Municipal Center upper deck.

      “Visitors travel from near and far to enjoy the splendor of the Riverwalk and the myriad restaurants and shops on Water Street and throughout downtown Naperville,” said Deb Newman, who is organizing the show on behalf of Marquette Companies and Water Street. “There is such a breadth of talent among artists and fine craftspeople right in our backyard, and we look forward to hosting them at this more intimate, leisurely event in this beautiful setting on a Summer Sunday afternoon. We are also proud to introduce visitors to all Water Street has to offer.”

Local artists wishing to apply to the show may do so by May 15. There is no application fee and booth rates are discounted for the inaugural show.  A jury is expected to select 30-35 artists to participate in the show.  Overnight accommodation for visitors and artists is available at Hotel Indigo Naperville Riverwalk.  Additional artist information and application may be found at https://www.zapplication.org/event-info.php?ID=12366.
