The Joliet West High School Group Interpretation team is headed to IHSA State Finals this weekend after competing on Saturday. The team qualified for State Finals with a second-place win for their performance of “Hercules.” Earning a spot at State is a huge accomplishment in this highly selective, competitive event.
Group Interpretation members headed to State are Braden Brophy (Hercules/Student Director); Kennedy Dorris (Megara); Jarrin Griggs (Zeus); Lesly Hernandez (Muse); Molly Murdock-Schey (Muse); Karis Posteluk (Pain); Gianna Ronchetti (Panic); Daniel Sanchez (Phil); Julia Slowakiewicz (Hades); Tiffany Trizna (Muse); and Bethany Yanchick (MUSEician).
The Group Interpretation Head Coach is Kristin Blake, and the Volunteer Coach is Tony Nardi. “These kids overcame so many obstacles this season and earned their own ‘zero to hero’ moment. I am incredibly proud of them,” said Blake.
Joliet West Group Interpretation invites parents, students, staff, and the community to a State Send-off performance of “Hercules” on Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. in the Joliet West Auditorium, 401 N. Larkin Avenue in Joliet. The show length is about 30 minutes and is free to attend.
