2019 RUSSIAN RIVER SELECTION CHARDONNAY wine bottle

By Dwight Casimere

Gary Farrell has created a beautifully constructed example of what a classic Russian River Valley Chardonnay should be.  Its rich golden color is its calling card, hinting at the vibrant wine within the bottle. Zesty flavors of ripe nectarines, subtle lemongrass and freshly baked brioche make this a terrific wine to enjoy with seafood, fruit salads and an array of soft cheeses. Chicken dishes, particularly those flavored with fresh garden herbs, are welcome companions. There are fresh flavors of Meyer lemon, grapefruit and ginger that give it a pleasant tang.

Blended from some of the area’s top vineyards, this is a terrific expression of the appellation’s unique characteristics. Its layered texture and natural balance derive from grapes grown in legendary vineyards; Bacigalupi, Rochioli, Allen and Olivet Lane, which features the Wente clone.

This is a refreshing wine that will be right at home on the Holiday table. Enjoy! Drink Responsibly.
