State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet said she will work to increase access to health care, advocate for fair and ethical elections, and improve Illinois’ financial institutions as a member of several key House committees.
“With a new legislative session underway, my unwavering commitment to supporting working families in Illinois is stronger than ever,” Manley said. “Despite our huge successes getting Illinois’ fiscal house in order, there is still work to be done. I will draw upon my experience as an accountant, a state representative, and a single mother to continue strengthening our institutions and improving the lives of all Illinois residents.”
On the new committees Manley will be the Vice Chair of the Health Care Availability and Access committee. As a member of both the Financial Institutions, Licensing and the Revenue and Finance committee, according to Manley, she will advocate for Illinois to remain on a path to greater fiscal responsibility by strengthening the financial institutions and continue to make smart spending decisions for the state. Equally as important to Manley is government transparency and oversight, so she has been appointed to serve on the following committees: House Rules, House Executive, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics and IT, Ethics and Elections, and Labor and Commerce.
“As a member of several House committees, I have the opportunity to help refine legislation that leads to policies that uplift Illinois families and ensure that our community’s voices are heard in Springfield,” Manley said. “It is time to get to work and I know that a commitment to communication and compromise always leads to answers and bipartisan solutions to our greatest challenges.”
