The 82nd Representative District Committee announced a vacancy in the Illinois House of Representatives due to State Representative John Egofske’s (R-Lemont) recent resignation.
The Committee’s appointment will be for the remaining term of the 103rd Illinois General Assembly.
“John Egofske is a tremendous leader in the community and we thank him for his continued service as Mayor of Lemont.” said DuPage Republican Chairman Jim Zay. “Our committee looks forward to a transparent and thorough process to fill this important position.”
In accordance with 10 ILCS 5/25-6(a), vacancies created in the General Assembly must be filled within 30 days of the member’s day of resignation.
The Representative District Committee is made up of Republican leaders from the 82nd district:
Jim Zay (DuPage Co.)
Tim Ozinga (Will Co.)
Michael Shackel (Lemont Twp.)
Terrance Carr (Lyons Twp.)
Cindy Nelson Katsenes (Orland Twp.)
Sean Morrison (Palos Twp.)
The 82nd Representative District Committee will convene at Lemont Public Library, 50 E Wend St, Lemont, IL at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023, to review all applicant information and appoint the replacement for this House of Representatives vacancy. The meeting is open to the public.
